P2P Setup
Turn on P2P
- Go to Operator Controls → Exchange → Configuration → Features, turn on P2P and click Save. The Features page lists P2P only on the Enterprise plan.
- Go to Operator Controls → Exchange → Markets → P2P and open the P2P settings tab.
- Turn on Enable P2P Trading.
- Click Edit Settings (or Click here to set up P2P trading the first time) to open the setup.
If your exchange's plan doesn't include P2P, the P2P settings tab shows an upgrade notice instead.
P2P setup steps
1. Type of P2P deals
- Trade Direction (Side): which sides vendors can post: All, Buy only or Sell only.
- Crypto Assets: the crypto assets that can be traded in P2P deals.
- Transaction Duration: how long, in minutes, a transaction has before it expires (from 10 to 60).
2. Fiat currencies
Choose the fiat currencies that can be used to pay for crypto in P2P deals. The fiat currencies must already exist on your exchange. See Fiat Controls for adding fiat assets.
3. Requirements
Choose who can take part, by account tier:
- Vendor Account Minimum Tier: the lowest tier a user needs to post deals as a vendor.
- User Account Minimum Tier: the lowest tier a user needs to take part in P2P trading.
Vendors handle other users' money, and how they behave reflects on your exchange. Set the vendor tier so that only users you have checked and trust can reach it. Customers can usually have a lower tier than vendors.
4. Payment methods
Select the payment methods vendors and customers use to send and receive fiat. Search the list for the methods that work for your users. If a local method is missing, use Create new payment methods to add your own, with its name and the payment details users must provide.
5. Platform management fees
- Merchant Fee: the percentage fee charged to vendors.
- Buyer Fee: the percentage fee charged to customers.
- Fee Source Account: the account that collects the fees from P2P transactions. This is usually the account that receives your exchange's other fees.
6. Review and confirm
Check all your settings and confirm. The P2P settings tab then shows the current setup: trade sides, crypto and fiat currencies, minimum tiers, payment methods, transaction duration, fees and the fee account.
