SEO Optimization
Search engine optimization (SEO) is a big topic. This page shows where to change your exchange's SEO settings and points to resources for learning more.
HollaEx Web v3 websites
On HollaEx Web v3 websites, set SEO in Site Studio → Site settings:
- General: the site name, the browser-tab title pattern, the default description and the share image.
- Pages: a title, description and share image for each page.
- Search engines (owner only): Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster verification codes, or hide the site from search engines.
Kit v2 Web websites: the Console
On Kit v2 Web websites, open the Console in Operator Controls (search for "Console" with Ctrl+K). It lets you add HTML inside the <head> and <body> tags of the site; click Publish Changes to apply it. See Theme, strings, graphics and console.
For SEO, add tags inside <head>. This is where search engines look for what the site is about.
What to add
The three main elements are:
- Title Tag - This is the title as will be seen on search engine pages (the large clickable link), as well as in posts shared to social media.
- Meta Description - The meta description is the text underneath the title on the search engine page.
- Keywords - Words that describe your site. They aren't shown to people in search results. Most major search engines give them little or no weight today.
For example, in the Console:
<title>My Exchange</title>
<meta name="description" content="Trade Crypto Easily!"/>
<meta name="keywords" content="crypto,trade,exchange,bitcoin"/>
A Note On Code Injection
The Console injects this HTML when the page loads, rather than it being part of the page itself. Some search engine crawlers may not pick it up, so it is less effective than settings that are built into the site, such as Site Studio's Site settings.
