Configure Asset Parameters
Asset parameters control how an asset behaves for deposits, withdrawals and valuation on your exchange. You set them when you add an asset, and change them later under Operator Controls → Exchange → Treasury → Assets: click Configure on the asset.
When you save, you can apply the change to the live exchange right away (Save and apply) or later (Save without applying).
Price
A rough dollar value for the asset (1 unit = ? USD). For a new asset, Operator Controls uses this price to fill in sensible minimum, maximum and increment amounts in the next step.
The price is only used where the exchange can't find a market price for the asset, for example to value a user's balance. Prices normally come from your markets, so you rarely need to set this by hand. Set it when the asset has no markets or receives no price data.
Minimum Amount
The smallest amount that can be deposited or withdrawn.
- Users can't withdraw less than this amount.
- Deposits below this amount aren't credited to the user's wallet. This prevents tiny "dust" deposits from causing operational issues.
A sensible minimum stops users from creating tiny, unusable balances and unnecessary blockchain traffic.
Maximum Amount
The largest amount that can be deposited or withdrawn in one transaction. This is a hard cap: tier-based withdrawal limits (see Fees & Revenue) can apply on top of it, but no single withdrawal can exceed it.
Increment Amount
The smallest unit of the asset. It's used for rounding, for the number of decimal places, and to validate withdrawal amounts.
For example, with an increment of 0.0001, only amounts in steps of 0.0001 (four decimal places) are accepted. Amounts that don't match the increment are rejected.
Withdrawal fee per network
What a user pays to withdraw the asset, set separately for each network the asset is available on.
To add an extra fee on top of the withdrawal fee, use Fee Markups.
Allow Deposits
Whether users can deposit the asset. Turn it off during maintenance, an asset migration, or any time the asset shouldn't be deposited.
Allow Withdrawal
Whether users can withdraw the asset. Turn it off during wallet maintenance, a blockchain incident, or when the asset needs to be frozen for operational or security reasons.
