Connecting the bot

To connect your market making bot to your HollaEx-powered exchange you first need to create an account on your exchange that will be responsible for market making. This account will hold the funds that are needed for the bot to market make:

Market making account

  1. Create account on your exchange.
  2. Create API Keys on this new account:
  • Log in to your account and turn on 2FA to secure account (First tab in your Security page).

  • Navigate to Account Security → API Keys.

  • Generate new API keys and record the secret key now, as it can't be shown again later (you use these keys in the next step).

Write down your secret key and turn on access for Read and Trade. This key will give your bot access to this account for trading.

  • Give the permissions for trading and market data access (read) to this key. You will need to confirm giving access with your previously setup 2FA and a special email code sent to your email.

    • If you didn't record your secret key, start step 2 again and generate a new key.
  1. Go to OctoBot Business (contact the HollaEx team if you don't have an OctoBot Business account on OctoBot yet):
  • Login to your OctoBot Business account

  • Navigate to Settings > Credentials

  • Under the exchange drop-down, select the name of your exchange (if it isn't listed, contact the HollaEx team to get it added).

Go to settings and Credentials and put in your API keys from step 2.

  • Enter the rest of the details you previously set up on step 2. (the API Keys)

  • Save these credentials, and remember the name you have given these credentials.

Bot

  1. Connect a bot:
  • Go to the Bots page (click the bot icon in the sidebar) and click Start a new bot.

  • Now select your exchange and select the credentials you've added from step 3 from the drop down, then click 'Next'.

Select the exchange you want to market make on. If your exchange isn't listed, ask HollaEx support for help.

In this example the credentials are named 'mm2'. They hold the secret key that gives your bot access to the account on your exchange (from step 2).

A market-making bot powered by OctoBot is included with your exchange.
