User Management
How does the platform handle user registration and KYC? Can the system accommodate invite-only or open-to-all onboarding, and is it flexible for individual and family office accounts?
Admins can turn open registration on or off. With it off, the admin creates accounts manually or approves sign-ups, which gives you an invite-only flow. This can be combined with email verification requirements for additional security. KYC requirements and deposit/withdrawal limits can be enforced per user through Account Tiers, where rules such as completing KYC, account age, or traded volume determine a user's tier and associated permissions.
Does your platform support multi-user or joint accounts? How are permissions and roles managed within accounts?
Yes, in two ways:
- Shared Accounts allow multiple users (each with their own login) to access the same account. The original account holder retains top-level ownership while delegating access to trusted team members — useful for joint operations or family office setups.
- Operator roles give your exchange staff fine-grained permissions. Default roles are provided, and you can create custom roles for specific needs.

Does the system support multiple user tiers (e.g., Platinum, Gold, Silver)?
Yes. User tiers are supported, and the admin can add more tiers.
Does your platform allow clients to set up multiple logical asset accounts (e.g., Funding, Trading sub-accounts)?
Yes. Sub-accounts allow a main account to be split into multiple segregated buckets, each with its own balance and purpose.
Two types are available:
- Real Email sub-accounts: tied to another person's email, with their own login. Can deposit and trade, but cannot withdraw directly (only the main account can transfer funds out).
- Virtual sub-accounts: no separate login; accessed by switching from the main account. Useful for isolated strategies or internal allocations.
Typical use cases include separating treasury, trading desk, client funds, or testing environments — each in its own sub-account under a single main account.

What authentication methods are supported (e.g., two-factor authentication, biometric security)?
2FA is supported, and users can see their login activity (current and past sessions). In the HollaEx mobile app, users can also sign in with their device's biometrics.
How does the platform detect and respond to suspicious login attempts or unusual activity?
Admins can monitor all users' logins and revoke suspicious sessions in Operator Controls → Security → Sessions & Logins. See Operator Controls: Security.
Login Confirmation asks users to confirm a login from a new device or location with an emailed code, and IP blocking and Cloudflare Turnstile help stop automated attacks. You can also use the API to build scripts that monitor for unusual activity.
What features are available in the user interface for account management and portfolio tracking?
The wallet interface shows users' assets in a pie chart. All previous balance snapshots are recorded every day so the user can view them. There is a P&L system to display the overall performance of the trades.
How does the platform track and display client activity, such as deposits, withdrawals, trades, and investments?
All activity is logged and available to admins in Operator Controls, and can be downloaded as CSV files. Every action taken by operators is recorded in the admin logs.
Please refer to this documentation: Operator Controls: Users
What types of reports are available to clients (e.g., PnL, tax reporting, account statements)?
Users can view and download CSV files of most of their activity from the History page. HollaEx has also worked with a crypto tax firm on tax reporting tools:

Please describe the web and mobile user interfaces, including any differences between them.
Users can trade on your exchange website in a browser, or in the HollaEx mobile app, a Flutter app for iOS, Android and macOS desktop. The apps have a more streamlined design than the website.
How are notifications (e.g., trade confirmations, login alerts) communicated to users? Can these be customized?
Notifications can be customized by the operator and sent by email or SMS.
The mobile apps also get native push notifications on Android and iOS. Users can customize on-screen notifications and sounds for trading events.
Does the platform support multiple languages and currencies across both web and mobile interfaces?
Yes. You choose your exchange's languages in Operator Controls → Exchange → Configuration → Localization, and users can switch between them. On HollaEx Web v3 websites, you edit the wording in Site Studio. For a language that isn't in the list, contact the HollaEx team. The fiat controls support any fiat currency.
What support channels are available to users (e.g., live chat, ticketing, third-party integration)?
Operator Controls includes a built-in help desk with ticketing, available when the feature is enabled for your exchange (see Operator Controls: Support). You can also use plugins for third-party customer support tools.
What other features enhance the user experience or engagement?
HollaEx offers a range of features to improve user experience and engagement, including staking, P2P trading, referral programs, automated trading, and API access for advanced users.
