Simplex - Fiat On-Ramp

The Simplex plugin adds a Credit card page to your exchange. Users get a quote and pay by card on Simplex's checkout, and Simplex sends the crypto to their deposit address on your exchange. Your exchange never handles fiat.

What you need

  • The Enterprise plan on HollaEx Cloud.
  • A Simplex partner account, with an API key and your partner name from Simplex.
  • The coins you want to offer listed on your exchange.
One credit card page only

The Guardarian plugin uses the same /credit-card page. Install Simplex or Guardarian, not both.

Set it up

  1. Get your API key and partner name from Simplex.
  2. Install simplex from Operator Controls → Exchange → Plugins.
  3. Open the plugin, enter the settings below and save. Use the sandbox addresses first to test.
  4. Sign in to your exchange as a test user, open Credit card and request a quote.
  5. When you're ready to go live, switch both Simplex addresses to production.
SettingWhat it does

coinsThe coins users can buy, comma separated with no spaces. Default btc, eth, usdt, trx. Each one must also be listed on your exchange.

Until api_key, partner_name and simplex_url are set, the plugin keeps trying again once a minute.

What your users see

The Credit card page (titled Buy with Credit Card) appears in your exchange's navigation. The user picks the fiat currency and the coin, enters an amount and sees a quote. Before leaving your exchange, the user accepts a disclaimer saying that Simplex, a third party, handles the card payment. They then pay on Simplex's checkout and return to your exchange.

The page buys crypto only.

How it works

  • The crypto goes to the user's own deposit address on your exchange for that coin. If the user doesn't have one yet, the plugin creates it.
  • Simplex sends the crypto on-chain, and it's credited like any other deposit. The plugin doesn't credit anything itself.
  • Every minute, the plugin reads and clears the queue of events Simplex keeps for your account.
  • Simplex handles the card payment and its own identity checks. For problems with an order, users contact Simplex.

Troubleshooting

  • A coin doesn't appear or the quote fails: check that the coin is in the coins setting and listed on your exchange, and that Simplex supports it for your account.
  • "Payment request failed": Simplex didn't accept the payment request. Check your partner name and API key, and that you're using matching sandbox or production addresses.
