Install and Manage Plugins

You install and manage plugins in Operator Controls → Exchange → Plugins. Installing plugins needs the Enterprise plan on HollaEx Cloud.

Install a HollaEx plugin

  1. Open Operator Controls from the HollaEx dashboard (the Operator Controls button on the Overview, My Exchange or Hosting page) and sign in with your exchange operator account.
  2. Go to Exchange → Plugins. Plugins published by HollaEx are listed under Available to install.
  3. Click Install next to the plugin and confirm. The exchange reloads its plugins, which takes a moment.
  4. Open the plugin and go to its Configuration tab. Enter its settings, for example the API keys from the provider, and save.

Each plugin's page in these docs lists its settings and any setup you need to do with the provider. Many plugins also show a setup guide on their Overview tab in Operator Controls.

Add your own or a third-party plugin

You can also install plugins that HollaEx doesn't publish, such as one you built yourself or one a developer built for you. See Develop Plugins.

  1. Go to Operator Controls → Exchange → Plugins and click Add plugin.
  2. Upload the plugin's JSON file (select it or drag and drop it), or enter the URL where the JSON file is hosted.
  3. Read the warning and confirm by typing I UNDERSTAND.
  4. Open the plugin and configure it.
Only install plugins you trust

Plugins run inside your exchange with the same access as the exchange itself. A plugin that didn't come from your HollaEx dashboard hasn't been checked by HollaEx. It could read or change user data (including balances and KYC documents), move funds, or use your API keys. Install one only if you know who made it and have reviewed its code.

Update a plugin

  • HollaEx plugins: when a newer version is published, the plugin shows an Update to v… button in the plugins list and on the plugin's page. Your saved settings are kept for every setting the new version still has.
  • Plugins added from a file: open the plugin, open the more-actions menu and choose Upgrade from file, then upload the new JSON file. Your saved settings are kept for every setting the new version still has.

Disable, restart or remove a plugin

Open the plugin in Operator Controls → Exchange → Plugins:

  • Disable turns the plugin off without losing its settings. Enable turns it back on.
  • Restart reloads the plugin, for example after a provider outage.
  • Remove plugin (in the more-actions menu) uninstalls it. You confirm by typing I UNDERSTAND.

Saving settings, enabling, disabling, updating and removing all reload the exchange's plugins, which takes a moment.
